Hustlers have been performing at BLUE
since 2007 and continue to showcase their smokin’ blues. In 2011 he and the band were honored as
Best Blues Entertainer of Chicago at the 30th Annual Chicago Music
multi-talented having started out playing guitar and harmonica at age 12 in
Magnolia, Mississippi with an ear
for gospel music. By high school
he added trombone and soon picked up the bass guitar.
Arriving in Chicago in 1962, he
formed his first R&B and Blues band.
He has played in both the great Blues clubs of Chicago and throughout
Europe exporting his dynamic talent and showmanship to audiences worldwide.

JW has performed with many Blues greats—BB King, Big Momma Thornton, Buster
Benton, Carl Weathersby, Eddie Clearwater, Eddie Shaw, John Lee Hooker, Junior
Wells, Jimmie Reed--just to name a few.
